How to prevent Sim Cloning?

Sim cloning is a new smarter way to steal your personal information along with your online account information, credit card details, bank account access, OTP generation etc. Now a day we are doing everything with a single number that are registered in most online channels and we are doing a lot with this information i.e. shopping, booking tickets, payments towards some billing or purchasing, online banking, etc. Even few people are storing the credit/debit card details within the sim card; as they are thinking if somebody else is getting all other informations of your sim card in their hand, what will they do?

The sim hacker are using +90, +92, +09  to call on your number, if you are response on those calls or give a call/text back, then all the information of your sim card will go to them and they start accessing your information. After hacking your phone they are able to call from your number, receive calls from your phone, and access all the voice mails from etc. which is very much dangerous.  The indications of sim cloning are given below:

  • Huge Phone Bills
  • Most of the time people will get busy signal while calling you
  • Problem which talking with anyone from your number
    • Phone will cut automatically several time
    • Cross Connections
    • Obstacles during calling
    • Partial Signal etc.
  • Increased frequency of incoming call from wrong numbers
  • Existence of unknown numbers in dial call log etc.

So, friends if you are facing any problem regarding this and disbelief that your sim may be cloned, then just change your phone number or you can follow the following steps:

  • Buy another sim card with different number and operator
  • Keep it in any other phone that your don’t use regularly and in front of others
  • Change your register number from current no to the new number by applying to bank(s), Credit Card Company, other accounts etc.
  • Break your old sim card
  • Issue a new sim card by applying or port it to any other mobile company
  • Now use your new sim card having the old number for making calls and sms only.

Remember, do not put both the sim (old and new) in one mobile phone. It is better not to say your new number to any other person. Try it and enjoy.
