Project Selection with AI, Machine Learning or IoT: A Smart Approach

Project selection is very essential for a student’s career, mainly when you will demonstrate your project to the industry you will join or for the further education. Most of the under graduate students follow the same way what their senior did in the previous year and it may ruin their project experience under an unfastened system.

For final year students, the “Management System” – type projects will not work next. The next generation project must be based on AI, Machine Learning or IoT; otherwise the whole system will be outmoded. Recently Manish Singhal (Founder or pi Ventures) also mentioned the same in his interview by Varsha Meghani, that “Products that Don’t Use AI or Machine Learning will Die a Natural Death”.

Well it is a serious issue if the students don‘t understand how they design their project in associated with Machine Learning or AI. Even few of us are confused about the fact that AI can be implemented in any other discipline rather than Computer Science.

Yes, AI is a speculative approach tending to some elegant techniques which can be implemented for resolving any issues in other disciplines too. And it is of course required to have knowledge of those approaches suitably before implementing them in your project.

Loads of methods are there in AI like Expert System, Artificial Neural Network, Fuzzy System, Swarm Optimization, Ant Colony Problem, Artificial Immune System, Negative Selection Process, Genetic Algorithm, Smart Clustering Approach etc.; which can be implemented in your program, but the trick is that before implementing your project kindly compare them with the mention methods, so that you can enrich your project with some smart techniques. Always remember, in one year of time span, you have to fulfil all your process of project selection, comparison, data collection, designing, implementation, comparison and analysis of your project. So do not make it so lengthy by selecting a large module as your project. Think like an entrepreneur. Your project should be smart, fast and sellable that can attract other’s attention. Hope this article augments your inspiration to plump for a suitable project in your final year.
