Glimpses of Kumarakom Backwater

It was a great journey of Kumarakom Backwater during my honeymoon. Ritam and I have chosen Kerala as our Honeymoon destination and I cannot resist myself to share few of my personal experience with all of you. Though Alleppey is famous for houseboat, we chose Kumarakom to stay because of fewer crowds. During our journey we have been there in one Vembanad Lake facing resort for one night and another night we were in houseboat.

It was a great experience being there near the lake. In the next morning we caught the houseboat from our resort.

We have hired a single bedroom houseboat at Rs.7000/- a day for 2 people and all the foods are included within the package. Due to the unavailability they have provided us a 2 bedroom houseboat with no other person there. We spent the whole leisure day together. At noon our houseboat was anchored beside Kottayam Village.  There we had our lunch.

The Karimin Fish is very much famous in Kerala. We have been served our lunch with Karimin fish. Everyone should try this fish at least one time during their holidays in Kerala. In the houseboat they allow the AC during 9PM to 6AM next morning. After the evening they again anchored the houseboat near a village. We have checked out from the houseboat at the same resort from where they have picked us at sharp 9AM. I suggest being there to enjoy a day in the houseboat.
