How to Day Visit to Araku from Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam is a well-connected city from all nearby mail railway junction. It is geographically very important city as it is located near Bay of Bengal. It is known as Vizag for the hard core tourists and also very old developed city in Andhra Pradesh. Araku is 114 km away from Visakhapatnam and the tourists used to visit Araku from Visakhapatnam either through train or through the road. Araku is good place for night stay; but it is also easily possible to visit Araku Sightseeing from Vizag by not staying here.

From Visakhapatnam you will get a day package sightseeing provided by the local hotels. The details of the eight points are given below:

1.    Padmapuram Garden
2.    Galikunda View Point
3.    Damuku View Point
4.    Tribel Museum
5.    Coffee Plantation
6.    Shooting Place
7.    Coffee House Museum
8.    Borrah Caves
9.    Katiki Water Falls

For the above eight points the tariffs are given below:

1.    Indica or Similar: AC – 4000/- and Non-AC – 3800/-
2. Innova/Travera or Similar: AC – 5500/- and Non-AC – 5200/-

But now a day, the conventional points are no more relevant. The Padmapuram Garden is no more well maintained for the tourists as it is now not maintained by Andhra Pradesh Government. Another temple is there near Visakhapatnam which lies in the same road towards Araku from Visakhapatnam. But the local drivers add the Simhachalam Temple as an extra sightseeing and for which they charge 1000 rupees extra approximately. Please note down that no mobile phones or camera are allowed within the temple area.
Moreover, there is another temple, named "Ramanarayanam" at Vizinagaram, which is now very beautiful and famous temple due to its top vie shape. It looks exactly like a “Dhanush”. The whole story of Ramayana is shown through the awesome man made architecture inside the temple. In the same way you will also get Thatipudi Reservoir which includes four lock gates. To visit this temple and the reservoir, total 15 km approximately will take extra.

It is suggested to you to get a rental cab from Ola and visit all the points together and it will take approximately 3800 rupees which is 1200 rupees approximately less than the package tour. The local sightseeing can be done through Ola cab only.

Few people catch the daily Kirandul passenger train from VSKP station to Araku. But the feedback of the train is very bad as it will only kill your time. Don’t go through the train unless you are not planning to visit the Chitrakoot Waterfalls.
